Middle School

Our Middle School program begins in 5th grade and our curriculum builds upon the core foundation of the elementary years to prepare the students for the challenges of high school academics. We believe a quality education gives our students tools for independent thinking and leads to the acknowledgement that each student has a responsibility to make a contribution to society. Students at The Howard School are more likely to excel in high school because they are self-motivated and independent learners. Our Middle School students participate and take a leadership role in many of the school-wide events within our Elementary Program. Additionally, we have elements exclusive to 5th through 8th grade curriculum, including our Science Fair, Science Lab, Empowerment Courses and our Middle School Trip.

Middle School Trip: We recognize that some of the most important learning happens outside of the classroom. Our robust field trip program allows students to take full advantage of the rich resources California and beyond. Our Middle School students attend a yearly rotating program complimenting their studies in Science and History. Stops include Gettysburg, Boston, Yosemite, The Grand Canyon and more.

“The faculty is very committed to the students, and they want these students to be the people of the future. Students are greeted by the principal each morning and every student is known on a first-name basis. Class sizes are small allowing the teachers to focus on each child's needs and goals.”
